Group Lessons

It is the coaching policy to play outside in the rain if the courts are safe. If the coaching team cancel a lesson the cost will be deducted from the next half term’s groups coaching fees or a make up group session will be offered. This must be used by the child concerned and cannot be transferred to someone else. Where possible an email will b e sent out by 3pm notifying of he cancellation and a message placed on the website, however if the weather only gets worse after this time it may not be possible. You can text 07889 526901 if you are unsure if a class will take place. In the instance of snow, a notice will be placed on the website each day. Deductions or make up sessions will only apply if the lesson is cancelled, not if a child cannot attend. The whole course must be paid for and it is not possible for children to swap days on an ad hoc basis as this would lead to confusion for all concerned and unsettle the groups. If a child is long-term injured each case will be judged individually.

Recognised sports clothing and TENNIS SHOES must be worn. Black or ridged soles may be dangerous to play in and can damage the surface. Most children’s trainers are acceptable apart from ‘astros’ which have small plastic studs on the bottom. Jeans or school uniform are not permitted.

If payment for a course is not received by the specified date then your place may be cancelled.

Parents/guardians can either watch the lessons from outside the fenced off area or leave their children for the duration. Continual late pick up of children may result in a fee being charged.

All the coaching within the club is organised through our Head Coach Alicia Hellier. Alicia is an LTA Level 5 Licenced Coach, is DBS checked and has completed First Aid and Safeguarding courses. Information about adult individual and group lessons, which include drills can be found at www.aliciahellier.com They are open to all members, but have to be pre-booked. Lessons run every evening after school and match plays on a Saturday. All junior members are expected to be available to represent Brightwell teams in the league.

Individual Lessons

Any individual lesson which is cancelled less than 24 hours before it is due to take place may be charged at the full rate.
