Alicia Hellier

Alicia Hellier MSc, BA (Hons), LTA TDA (Level 5)

Educated at Farnborough Hill and the University of Birmingham (History / Sport and Recreation) and then a post grad MSc (Sociology of Sport), Alicia played at Brightwell as a junior and was U13 Surrey county singles champion and U14 runner up. She started coaching there in 1998 and has achieved all levels of the LTA coaching awards, first the ECA, then DCA, then the CCA and finally the TDA which is the highest level available to development coaches and holds a full licence.

Alicia has implemented a full coaching programme at Brightwell for children from the age of two up to adults, from recreational players to county representatives and links with local schools (mainly St Polycarp’s and St Andrew’s). She has worked as a teacher (A Level PE and History), led tennis tours to South Africa, worked as a sports journalist writing about football and cricket and is co-author of Sporting Travels of a Karoo Son.
