Tournaments

There are many opportunities for competition with internal club tournaments run both as part of the lessons and in the school holidays.

Red level competitions are usually the first to 10 points, orange are the best of three tie break sets and green are one short set. All are played in a round robin format and are sometimes team based.

There are also a number of singles and doubles tournaments for older children which sometimes use the American Doubles and or Davis Cup formats.

Brightwell Tennis Club enters teams in the Surrey Mini League and Little League for Under 8s, 9s and 10s, in the Aldershot League for Under 13s and Under 16s and in the NJCL. The Boys’ U16 A, Mixed U16 A and Boys’ U16C are all current winners of their respective divisions in the Aldershot League. The Boys’ Under 8 Red and Under 9 Orange teams have both won their local groups and qualified for the Surrey finals. In the past the Boys’ and Girls’ Green teams, the Boys’ Orange team and the Girls’ red team have won the County Final events.

For performance players, who play full court and are members of Brightwell Tennis Club, there are match practice sessions on Saturday mornings.
